break / building
I haven't been on the computer the last few days, so my album spotlight and song spotlight features will be a bit later than usual this week?
Here's a word for today: mellifluous.
Oh: I also like this building in Ottawa. It's the former city hall at 111 Sussex Drive. It was the HQ from 1958 to 2000 When the Harrisites forced an amalgamation a few years ago, it was decided to move to a different space (the former Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton building at 110 Laurier Avenue).
111 is now owned by the federal government, and is used for office space by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. An expansion of the complex in the late 80s featured a controversial design by architect Moshe Safdie (of Habitat fame). Many hated the redesign, but I think it's striking.
Here's one view of part of the complex.
